The festival's host hotel, the Loews Miami Beach, is one of the South Beach hotels you can book. The festival follows the boat show, so most of February is spoken for, and the guide to the weeks Miami fills up says last-minute booking loses in February and March.
The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival is four February days of ticketed tastings and dinners around Miami and Miami Beach. It began as a one-day event called the Florida Extravaganza at FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus. Florida International University runs it, and net proceeds still go to the university's Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. The festival puts its total at more than $45 million. There is no single ticket. Each of the 100-plus events is sold on its own, so you choose a burger contest, a brunch, a late-night party or a day in the Grand Tasting Village, where white tents cover three city blocks of sand and dozens of South Florida restaurants serve beside wine and spirits producers. Food and drink are included in a Grand Tasting ticket, and the village is 21 and over. Loews Miami Beach is the host hotel. Prices vary a lot by event, and the festival keeps a section for events at $100 and under.
