At the Miami Lakes Food & Wine Festival, local restaurants and beverage partners pour for an evening of tasting at Miami Lakes Optimist Park, 6411 NW 162nd Street. The first festival was held in March 2018 at the park's clubhouse, organized with the town. Tickets are sold through the link on the festival's site, and sales are final. It runs from 7 to 10 p.m. on a Saturday in the first week or so of February, in any weather. The gate checks a government-issued photo ID for this 21+ event, and anyone under 21 is turned away without a refund. Recent lineups have listed about 28 restaurants and more than 30 beverage partners, among them breweries and wine importers. A hotel discount and an Uber voucher are listed too. Proceeds go to the Miami Lakes Town Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2005 that funds education and youth programs in town.
