About this happenin
Fairchild is one of the few places in the continental U.S. where cacao trees grow outdoors, and every January it gives a full weekend to chocolate. It goes ahead rain or shine. The House of Chocolate gathers South Florida chocolatiers, and chefs and makers give demos and talks on how a bean becomes a bar. Grown-ups 21 and over can book a bourbon or wine pairing, ticketed separately like the six-chocolate world tasting called A Journey in Chocolate. Kids compete in a Chocolate Olympics, split into ages 4 to 6 and 7 to 12. The tram tours stop for the weekend, and the Choco Choco Choo Choo Express runs from the Tram Plaza all day instead. Bands play the Garden House Lawn stage on both days. Fairchild members get free tickets.
