Miami Greek Festival

About this happenin
The Miami Greek Festival is a three-day celebration at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 7901 North Kendall Drive, and it is the parish's main fundraiser. It has run for more than forty years, and volunteers keep it going. The cafeteria line serves moussaka, pastitsio, lamb shanks kapama and spanakopita, while the taverna serves gyros and souvlaki. Pastries run to baklava and loukoumades, the fried dough puffs soaked in honey, and the bar pours Mythos beer and ouzo. Dance groups take the stage several times a day, and there are guided tours of the church's Byzantine cathedral. Recent editions have opened at 11am, closing at 11pm Friday and Saturday and 9pm Sunday. Parking is free across 79th Avenue and at Kenwood Elementary, with a shuttle from the school. Uber and Lyft riders have gotten in free with a receipt, and so have first responders.
