Stone crab is the headline at the Homestead Stone Crab & Seafood Festival, two days at the Homestead Sports Complex, 1601 SE 28th Avenue, beside Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Rotary Club of Homestead Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3), puts it on. The rest of the menu runs to shrimp, lobster, barbecue and roast pork. The festival falls on the first or second weekend of March. Advance tickets have been $15 and the gate $20. Children 12 and under are free and have a play area. Gates open at 11 a.m. on both days, rain or shine. Pets, coolers, beach umbrellas and outside food and drink are not allowed in, but lawn chairs are encouraged.
