More than 630 rescued manatees have come through ZooTampa's David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center in Tampa, and most went back to Florida waters. At Manatee Rescue you can watch the current patients from below the surface. Some of the Florida panthers here can't survive in the wild because their injuries are permanent. Packed lunches are allowed at the picnic area by the main lot, just outside the park.

A combo ticket covers ZooTampa and the Florida Aquarium, one entry to each within seven days. It works better as two mornings than one day: the aquarium takes about two hours and the zoo half a day or more.
