Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park
600 N Ashley Drive, Tampa, FL 33602
About this happenin
Downtown Tampa's riverfront park becomes a holiday village each winter, built around a covered outdoor ice rink on the edge of the Hillsborough River. Skating runs in 75 minute sessions with rentals included, and the park fills in around it with small local shops trading out of decorated PODS containers, a cafe, curling lanes, ice shows under the tent on select nights, themed Tuesday skate nights, and a Friday silent disco. A River of Lights boat cruise leaves from the Riverwalk stop at the park. Know before you go: walking in is free and only skating is ticketed. Reserve online or through the on-site QR codes, since tickets are paperless, non-refundable and non-transferable. Rink and cafe hours differ and shift across the run, so check the organizer's Facebook page first. Curling is first come, first served Wednesday through Sunday, and curling gear and silent disco headphones come from the event kiosk in exchange for an ID. Park in the downtown garages, including the William F. Poe garage, for a fee. There is a quiet sensory relief zone on site.
