About

You walk into the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach under a 43-foot roof that curves around an old banyan tree. The tree came through Hurricane Irma in 2017. Foster + Partners designed the roof for the 2019 expansion, which kept Marion Sims Wyeth's single-story Art Deco pavilions from 1941 and turned a parking lot next door into the sculpture garden. A 2018 gift from Howard and Judie Ganek added more than 100 works, among them pieces by Cindy Sherman, Kara Walker, Ed Ruscha and Nan Goldin.
