Manatee Lagoon
About
Manatee Lagoon is a Florida Power & Light education center beside the warm-water outflow of FPL's Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center, and admission and parking are free. Manatees have come to that discharge for decades, mostly in cold weather, and dozens can gather at once in plain view of the observation deck. In manatee season, November 15 to March 31, it opens daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Viewing is best after two or three days of steady cold under clear skies. The upstairs deck closes for private events, and the center's live manatee cam shows what is in the water.
