About

The cave tour north of Marianna follows passages that Civilian Conservation Corps crews dug out largely by hand, with picks and shovels. The park has more than 30 named caves, in limestone laid down about 38 million years ago. Tickets are sold first come, first served at the gift shop and can sell out on weekends and holidays, so come on a weekday if you can. Blue Hole, a spring pool about 35 feet deep, is open for swimming without lifeguards and can close when the Chipola River floods.
