Ferraris and Lamborghinis park across the bayfront lawn at Vinoy Park for St. Pete Italian Fest, one Saturday each May, a few steps from the water. The field is exotic and vintage Italian metal, and owners register their cars ahead of time through the organizer. Local food vendors sell sausage and peppers off the griddle and cannoli by the tray, and Italian bands play the standards. The schedule includes a bocce tournament, a cannoli eating contest, live pasta-making demonstrations, Italian language classes and wine tastings. Admission is ticketed, $15 in advance and $20 at the gate, and children under 10 get in free. Advance tickets sell through Eventbrite, and car registration goes through the festival's own site. Hours have shifted between editions. Vinoy Park sits at 701 Bayshore Drive NE on the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront, just north of the Pier.
