St. Pete Italian Fest
701 Bayshore Dr NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701
About this happenin
One Saturday each May, Vinoy Park turns Italian: sausage and peppers off the griddle, cannoli by the tray, and a bayfront lawn parked full of Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The car display is the part people do not expect, a field of exotic and vintage Italian metal a few steps from the water, with owners registering their cars ahead of time through the organizer. The rest of the day fills in around it: a bocce tournament, a cannoli eating contest, live pasta-making demonstrations, Italian language classes, wine tastings, local food vendors and Italian bands working through the standards. Proceeds support the Gulfport Senior Center. Know before you go: admission is ticketed, $15 in advance and $20 at the gate, with children under 10 free. Advance tickets sell through Eventbrite, and car registration goes through the festival's own site. Vinoy Park sits at 701 Bayshore Drive NE on the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront, just north of the Pier. Hours have shifted between editions, so check the organizer before you head over.
