Soul Revival Festival on The Deuces
833 22nd St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712
About this happenin
Soul Revival fills The Deuces, St. Petersburg's historic 22nd Street South corridor, with an afternoon of live music, artist booths and hands-on art. Happy Soul Revival Inc. runs it as a fundraiser and awareness day for sickle cell disease, a cause the founder, artist Myiah "Pink" Huff, took up in memory of her late aunt LaMetra Moody, who lived with the illness. Painters work at easels on the lawn, vendors hang original canvases inside pop-up tents, performers take the mic, and wellness practitioners set up beside them. The Deuces day closes a longer weekend that has also carried a sickle cell education session at St. Petersburg College's Midtown campus and a ticketed art gala brunch at The James Museum downtown. Know before you go: general admission on The Deuces is free, and the afternoon has run 2pm to 6pm. The brunch is ticketed separately, and vendor booths sell ahead of time. The festival grounds are outdoors and open, so bring shade and water.
