Judges award five figures in prize money at the Tarpon Springs Fine Arts Festival, and each year's winners are juried straight into the next edition. More than 150 juried artists set up white tents in Craig Park in March, under live oaks along the dark water of Spring Bayou, with close to 200 exhibits: painting and pastels, glass, sculpture, wearable art. The festival is more than half a century old. Live music carries from the band shell. A food court near the Recreation Center handles lunch, and there's craft beer and wine on the grounds. Parking around the park is close to nonexistent. Leave the car downtown or on a side street, where it's free, and walk in. The chamber has run a free shuttle from the Tarpon Tower lot in past years. Admission is $5 per person per day, free under 12. Coolers aren't permitted. Service animals are welcome; other pets aren't. Both days close at 5pm, and Sunday opens at 10am.
