Mainsail puts $60,000 in prize money on the line at Vinoy Park in early April, $10,000 of it for Best of Show, which is why the glass and ceramics beat the average park art show. It has run since 1976, fields 250 juried artists on the waterfront lawn, and you walk in free. Buy something and the art valet at the Info Tent holds it while you finish the rows. Park at the SouthCore garage on 1st Avenue South and ride the free trolley in, and skip the cooler because it won't clear the gate.
