Downtown Dunedin Art Festival
271 Main Street, Dunedin, FL 34698
About this happenin
Each January the Downtown Dunedin Art Festival lines Main Street with juried fine artists, turning one of Florida's oldest Gulf coast towns into an open-air gallery. The work spans sculpture, photography, glass, painting, ceramics, jewelry and mixed media, and because the artists stand in their own booths, the price of a piece tends to arrive with the story of how it was made. A separate craft marketplace runs alongside the fine art, which is where to spend your time if you would rather carry home something handmade and small. The setting does a lot of the work too, since Main Street is a walkable run of independent shops and restaurants, and a morning of browsing turns into a long lunch without much effort. Know before you go: admission is free, and the festival runs 10am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The booths center on 271 Main Street. Come early for the calmest browsing, and wear shoes you can cover the same block in several times over.
