Pinecrest Gardens Art & Design Fair

The former Parrot Jungle grounds at 11000 Red Road are where Pinecrest Gardens holds its juried Art & Design Fair, on a weekend in the second half of January. Artists set up booths across the gardens, and hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. It started as the Fine Arts Festival and took its current name once designers and artisans joined the painters and photographers. The juried work covers painting, wearable art, mixed media, 3D art and photography, and cash awards go to selected artists. A separate design market runs alongside the booths, and live bands play both days. Tickets have been $5 a person at recent editions, and parking is free. The fair goes ahead rain or shine with no refunds for weather, and well-behaved dogs on a fixed leash are welcome.
