Heritage Fest is the Arsht Center's free, all-ages celebration of Black and Pan-African art, held on a Saturday in February for Black History Month. The Arsht started it to give Pan-African artists in Miami a stage of their own. The afternoon is for families. Dance and movement workshops run alongside theater and dance performances on Thomson Plaza and inside the Ziff Ballet Opera House, and local food vendors and Black-owned businesses set up around them. Drop in for one set or stay the whole day. As evening comes on, the party turns into an 18-plus juke joint with a live concert. Admission is free with an RSVP.
