About this happenin

Gay8, also called Gay Ocho, is a free Latino LGBTQ street festival on Calle Ocho in Little Havana. It started in 2016 and is held on a Sunday in mid-February around Presidents' Day weekend. The Miami nonprofit 4Ward Miami runs it. As a full street festival, it closes Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) to cars between SW 13th Court and SW 17th Avenue and turns the stretch into a pedestrian walkway. The day runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Stages carry live music and dance parties, and there are fashion shows, art and craft booths, local food vendors and free film screenings at the Tower Theater. Restaurants have competed in a Best Miami Sandwich contest. VIP tickets are sold and include limited attended parking, while free street parking is available south of SW 8th Street. Keep driveways and sidewalks clear. The street festival has not run every year. In 2025 it was replaced by a smaller party at Domino Park.
