About this happenin
Saturday is the big day at Tustin Tiller Days. It starts with a pancake breakfast in the Tustin Library courtyard, put on by the Tustin Host Lions Club. At 10 a.m. a parade sets off from Main Street and Pacific Street and finishes at the festival grounds in Columbus Tustin Park. The wiener dog races come after, and a card show takes the evening. The festival runs Friday to Sunday on the first weekend of October, and the city has held it for close to 70 years, with Parks and Recreation staff and a volunteer committee doing the organising. Admission is free. The carnival sells ride wristbands and has midway games and food wagons. Music plays on the main stage all weekend. Friday night has a wine tasting and Sunday afternoon the Backyard Brewfest, both ticketed. Leashed pets are welcome. Parking on site raises money for Columbus Tustin Middle School, and a free shuttle runs from the Tustin Area Senior Center.
More in October: 18 other Los Angeles events.
