Taste of Soul takes over Crenshaw Boulevard in South Los Angeles one Saturday each October, between Barack Obama Boulevard and Stocker Street. It is a family festival, free to the public, and the organiser puts the crowd at more than 350,000. Come hungry. Vendors along the route serve more than 150 different foods, and small businesses set up stalls beside them. Stevie Wonder, Queen Latifah, Brandy and Ginuwine have all played it over the years, and gospel gets a stage of its own, named for Brenda Marsh-Mitchell. The Los Angeles Sentinel and Bakewell Media present it.
