Hollywood Farmers' Market
1600 Ivar Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028
About this happenin
Every Sunday a bugle call opens the Hollywood Farmers' Market at Ivar and Selma avenues. Food Access LA, which runs it, calls it the largest farmers' market in Los Angeles. It opened in 1991, when California had only a few, and more than 150 farmers, producers, food vendors and artisans now work it between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Live music plays and there are activities for children. Now and then a food writer signs books. Many stalls sell something to eat on the spot: bagel sandwiches, tamales, pupusas and dumplings. EBT works here, with fruit and vegetable purchases matched up to $15 a week, and WIC and Senior FMNP checks are accepted. Parking is validated at three nearby lots, including the Sunset and Vine structure. The Metro B Line stops at Hollywood and Vine, two blocks away.
