Orange International Street Fair
Chapman Ave & Glassell St, Orange, CA 92866
About this happenin
About 300,000 people come to Old Towne Orange over Labor Day weekend for the International Street Fair, by the count of Orange Plaza Traditions, the nonprofit that runs it. The fair spreads along Chapman Avenue from Grand Street to Lemon Street and along Glassell Street from Almond Avenue to Maple Avenue, with Plaza Park in the middle. The food streets are themed by country. Only nonprofits may run the food booths, each selling the food of the country it represents. Stages are spread across the blocks, among them Irish, Mexican, Greek, German and Polynesian ones and one for youth acts, and arts and crafts sellers must bring work that is at least 70 percent handmade. Friday starts in the evening with an opening ceremony, and Saturday and Sunday run from morning to 10 p.m. Getting in is free, but you need a wristband to buy or drink alcohol.
