Los Angeles County Fair
1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona, CA 91768
About this happenin
In 1922 the first LA County Fair took up 43 acres of beet and barley field in Pomona. The grounds, now Fairplex, cover 500 acres, and the fair fills them for most of May with a carnival, livestock shows, pig races, parades and a concert series. It used to run in September and moved to May in 2022. Recent fairs have opened Thursday through Sunday plus Memorial Day, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission and parking are cashless and cost less bought online ahead of time, and children five and under have been free. Competitions in home arts, culinary, horticulture and livestock run through the whole fair, and agriculture students from around the region show their animals in the barns. Every Friday at 5 p.m. a parade goes through the fairgrounds.
More in May: 12 other Los Angeles events.
