Long Beach Greek Festival
5761 E. Colorado St, Long Beach, CA 90814
About this happenin
Assumption Greek Orthodox Church opened in Long Beach on August 15, 1949, and the parish held a festival the same day, after the liturgy. It has held one every year since. Today the festival fills the church grounds on East Colorado Street over Labor Day weekend, and it is the parish's main fundraiser of the year. Food is the draw: spanakopita, lamb, loukoumades, pastries, and Greek beer and wine. Dancers and live bands share the stage, and small children have a Kids Zone. The church stays open for guided and self-guided tours all weekend, so you can look at the Byzantine art inside between plates. Gates open at noon. General admission was $5 in 2026, with children under 12 free, and tickets bought online let you skip the line.
More in September: 9 other Los Angeles events.
