Mariachi, Hawaiian hula, Bollywood dance and holiday choirs have all shared the stage at the L.A. County Holiday Celebration, a free show the Music Center puts on each December at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Downtown Los Angeles. The program is built from the county itself, with more than two dozen local acts taking turns. Seats have been free but ticketed. The show has run for more than six decades, and for most of that time it fell on Christmas Eve. The Music Center has since moved the live performance to a Sunday earlier in December and gives the same program twice that day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. PBS SoCal records the morning show and airs it over Christmas.
