About this happenin
Culver City has held Fiesta La Ballona since 1951, when the city and the Culver City Chamber of Commerce put on a weeklong celebration of the town's early heritage. Along the way it has run in May and been called the Festival of the People. These days it takes three days in late August at Veterans Memorial Park, 4117 Overland Avenue, and the city's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department runs it. Entry is free. The carnival sells ride wristbands separately. Local groups run booths beside dozens of food vendors, and there's live music on stage. Adults 21 and over have a beer and wine garden. At the city pool, the Aquacade puts on water activities for families over the weekend. Park in the Sony lot on Overland and take the shuttle over.
