On select Friday nights each summer, The Music Center turns Jerry Moss Plaza, at 135 N. Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles, into an open-air dance floor. Each night takes one style. A local instructor teaches a beginner lesson first, then the DJ takes over and the floor is open to everyone. Recent seasons have had Bollywood, salsa, reggaeton, cumbia, Afrobeats, disco and line dance nights. You don't need to have danced before, and you don't need a ticket. The series comes from TMC Arts, The Music Center's program of free and low-cost events, and it reached its 20th summer in 2024.
