About

From the Wolfe Ranch lot in Arches National Park, outside Moab, the walk to Delicate Arch is 3 miles round trip and climbs 480 feet. You pass the Wolfe Ranch cabin and a wall of Ute petroglyphs on the way, and the arch's opening is 46 feet high. Landscape Arch is easier. The trail leaves from Devils Garden, where the park road ends 18 miles past the visitor center, and runs a fairly flat 1.9 miles round trip to a span of 306 feet that's 6 feet wide at its thinnest. The entrance line can run over an hour from March through October, so get there before 8 a.m. or after 3 p.m. You can only go into the Fiery Furnace on a ranger-led hike or with a permit, and children under 5 aren't allowed.
