Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Medora, ND · North Dakota Badlands
Theodore Roosevelt National Park protects the rugged North Dakota badlands that shaped a future president, a sweep of striped buttes and prairie above the Little Missouri River near Medora. Drive the South Unit's 36-mile scenic loop and you will likely meet bison, prairie dog towns, and the park's wild horses right along the road. The quieter North Unit runs its byway out to Oxbow Overlook, where the river bends through the wilderness.
