About

Panola Mountain, in Stockbridge, is the granite outcrop Stone Mountain might have been if it had stayed wild. Its 100 acres of rock are open only on guided hikes, which you book by calling the park. Without a guide, the easy 0.75-mile Outcrop Trail goes through pine and oak woods to an overlook of a granite outcrop. The paved PATH trail, open to bikes, runs more than 7 miles to Arabia Mountain and passes the restored Vaughters Farm dairy barn and a boardwalk at Alexander Lake with a view of the mountain.
