About

A rock wall 855 feet long runs across the top of Fort Mountain, 2,850 feet up at the southwestern end of the Cohutta Mountains near Chatsworth. Early Native Americans are thought to have built it, as a fort or for ceremonies. For sunset, take the West Overlook Trail, 1.6 miles round trip and fine for kids and dogs. Mountain bikers have the 301 Trail, a 14.6-mile loop past old mines and the waterfalls on Hassler's Mill Creek.
