St. Augustine Historic District
About
About half the buildings in St. Augustine's historic district predate 1925, and the oldest surviving house, the Gonzalez-Alvarez House, dates to about 1723. Street parking has a four-hour limit. The 1,200-space garage by the Visitor Information Center charges every time you drive in, so put the car in once and go on foot. St. George Street, a pedestrian street through downtown, has more than 30 historic houses and attractions, the Oldest Wooden School House among them.
