About

Three paid lots on A1A, between St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach, lead onto Guana's beach and are open from 8 am to sunset. The dunes in this reserve stand 30 to 40 feet, some of the highest in Florida. Off Guana River Road, a dam built in 1957 to flood the marsh for wintering waterfowl holds back Guana Lake, and the outpost beside it rents kayaks and paddleboards.
