The Tampa International Fringe Festival packs about 30 uncurated shows into four small rooms in Ybor City each June, most of them 30 to 60 minutes long. Companies get in by lottery and the whole base ticket price goes back to the artists, so one evening might run through earnest solo storytelling, stand-up, dance, puppetry and late night cabaret. Three of the venues are inside Kress Contemporary on East 7th Avenue and the fourth is up the street at The Commodore, with a festival shuttle between them. Single tickets run roughly $9 to $15 plus a $3 service fee. Buy three or more shows for a discount, and pay cash to knock a dollar off the fee. Your first ticket comes with the button you have to wear for entry. Weeknight shows start around 7pm and weekend days around noon. Saturday runs longest, with the last shows starting after 10pm. Ratings run between all ages and 18 and over, with Kids Fringe programming on the weekends. Every venue is ADA compliant.
