Fiesta Day fills 7th Avenue with ethnic cuisine, craft booths and live music, a free Ybor City street festival honoring the immigrants who built the neighborhood. The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce and the City of Tampa have co-hosted it for more than seventy years, commemorating the Cuban, Italian, Spanish, Jewish and German families who settled here in the late 1800s as the cigar factories thrived. Food vendors work the length of the avenue, artists and makers set up along the brick sidewalks, and performances run on the 7th Avenue Stage, the music carrying under the wrought-iron balconies that give the district its look. Know before you go: admission is free, and the festival typically runs late morning into late afternoon, around 11am to 5pm, along 7th Avenue in the historic district. Organizers bill it as family-friendly. It is an outdoor daytime event on open pavement, so plan for February sun and comfortable shoes.
