The Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival runs from January, around the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, through April, and it ends on the lawn at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park with two days of R&B, jazz, gospel and neo-soul. The Music Fest brings vendor villages of Black-owned businesses, a Children's Village, health screenings, drum circles and line dancing on the grass. Gates open at noon both days, with entry on Ashley Street. Preferred seating and VIP tickets sit above general admission, and under 12 is free. In the general area, bring a low-backed lawn chair and an empty bottle to fill. Not allowed: coolers, outside food, alcohol, and tents or umbrellas that block someone's view. The Poe Garage is closest, with other downtown garages and hourly street parking nearby. The park is ADA compliant.
