Ethiopian and Cuban cooking share the Al Lang Stadium parking lot with family farms on Saturdays in downtown St. Petersburg. More than 140 vendors set up there from October through May, with live music going, and the ready-to-eat food covers more than 15 countries. Growers sell sustainably grown produce and eggs, and you can question them directly. Juried booths sell jewelry and work in glass and wood. A smaller summer edition runs June through August, and the market takes all of September off. Hours are 9 am to 2 pm in the winter season and 9 am to 1 pm in summer. The South Core Garage on 1st Avenue S runs about $8 on weekends, and metered street parking nearby is $1 to $1.50 an hour by meter or ParkMobile. The free Looper trolley circles downtown, and bike racks line the market's north side. Dogs are welcome on leashes under four feet, no extendable leads, and there's a water bowl at the Market booth. SNAP purchases of Florida produce are matched through Fresh Access Bucks.
