Nine blocks of Main Street close on the third Friday of every month, turning downtown Safety Harbor into an open-air stroll of shops, bars and live music. Local restaurants, retailers and nonprofits anchor it, with vendor tents along the curb and a youth vendor alley for young sellers. Main Street is wet zoned from Bayshore to 9th Avenue, so a drink bought from a downtown business travels with you. The entertainment map goes up on the event's Facebook page the week of. Know before you go: admission is free and the street is live from 6 to 10 p.m. It runs rain or shine, though the chamber delays or cancels for lightning and posts updates online. Parking is street parking only, so watch for no-parking signs and keep driveways clear. Portolets sit behind the chamber at 200 Main Street, in the Troubled Waters Brewery lot and at the city lot at 9th and Main, plus restrooms at the John Wilson Park gazebo. Seating is scattered along the route, including the 3rd Avenue courtyard and a family zone at the gazebo.
