Beach Boulevard closes to traffic for Gulfport Pride's street festival, which runs noon to 7 p.m. Vendor tents fill the street, and there's drag and live music beside the water. The event began in 2021. It incorporated as a nonprofit in 2023 and has given more than $30,000 to local charities since. Organizers count somewhere between 1,500 and 5,000 people across the day, and the independently owned shops downtown fill the surrounding week with Pride events of their own. President Linda Breen describes it as neighborhood Pride. The parade runs on a separate day from the festival, a deliberate change. It steps off at the Gulfport Recreation Center, 5730 Shore Blvd. S., follows Shore Boulevard and then Beach Boulevard, crosses 28th Avenue S. and ends at the Gulfport Public Library.
