The Festival of Lights Boat Parade leaves the ROC Park seawall at 6pm on the Saturday of the Merry Beach Market & Holiday Festival and threads the finger canals toward John's Pass. Friday ends with fireworks at 8pm. The festival is a Gulf coast take on a Christmas market, with palm trees and inflatable Santas standing in for snow. More than 150 vendors set up in ROC Park in Madeira Beach for two December days. A beer garden pours 3 Daughters, and there are food and drink vendors, live entertainment all day, a kids zone and free photos with Santa. Friday runs 5pm to 9pm and Saturday 2pm to 8pm at 200 Rex Place, and admission is free. A free shuttle runs to the site. Bring a chair or blanket for the parade, and both cash and card. Leave pets at home unless they're service animals. Coolers and outside food and drink aren't allowed.
