The Santa Fest parade steps off at 1 p.m. at Morgan Street and Madison Street, goes west on Madison to Ashley Drive, then turns north on Ashley and ends at Cass Street. The city points to Madison Street as the best place to watch.

An afternoon in downtown Tampa on the first Saturday of December ends with the mayor lighting seven Christmas trees in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. It starts with a free parade at 1 p.m., marching bands and dance teams sharing the route with the floats. Santa Fest runs in the park from 1 to 5 p.m., with make-n-take crafts, reindeer games, vendors and free photos with Santa. The tree lighting runs 6 to 6:30, and at 6:45 the lawn turns into an outdoor cinema for a family holiday movie. The parade steps off from Morgan and Madison and heads west on Madison to Ashley Drive, then north to Cass. The city points to Madison Street as the best stretch for watching. Admission is free. Blankets and low-back chairs are welcome, as are leashed, well-behaved dogs, and food and drink are sold on site. Parking is in the downtown garages and surface lots nearby.
