About this happenin

More than 2.5 million LED lights fill Largo Central Park nightly from Thanksgiving into early January, and walking in costs nothing. The oaks get wrapped trunk to canopy, the park's red torii gate is outlined in pink and violet, and a Ferris wheel turns at the far end of the lawn beside a carousel and a spinning elephant ride. Weekends bring the Mistletoe Market, with food and beverage vendors set up along the route. The city counts more than a million visitors across a full run, which is worth knowing before you pick a Saturday. Know before you go: open nightly 5 to 10 p.m., and all rides stop at 10 with no exceptions. Walking the lights is free, and so is parking on every night except the Holiday Tree Lighting and Stroll. Ride tickets are $6 each or ten for $50. Carousel riders must clear 36 inches, and anyone 36 to 42 inches needs a ticketed adult along. The Ferris wheel takes solo riders at 56 inches and up. It is a walking route, no golf carts, and leashed dogs are welcome.
