Hernando County Fair
6436 Broad Street, Brooksville, FL 34601
About this happenin
The Hernando County Fair fills the Brooksville fairgrounds for nine days each spring, with a carnival midway, livestock barns and a demolition derby. Cars slam around the dirt track on derby nights, the Ferris wheel and the Wacky Shack fun house light up after dark, and the barns fill with the chicken, rabbit and beef open youth shows. The Family Living Exhibit gathers canning, quilting, photography and jewelry from around the county, toddler through adult pageants crown Miss Hernando County, and fireworks close out the biggest nights. Know before you go: the fair has run 5pm to 10pm or 11pm on weekdays and opened at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday, so check the posted opening hours for the day you are going. Admission and parking rates are not posted on the fairgrounds website, so contact the fair association if you want to know them before you go. The fair runs rain or shine unless severe weather moves into the area.
