Vendor tents line Beach Boulevard in downtown Gulfport twice a month, 5 to 9 p.m. under a canopy of live oaks, with live music along the way. The Gulfport Night Market lands on the first Friday and third Saturday of every month, year-round, and folds together what used to be two separate events, the First Friday Art Walk and IndieFaire. The Gulfport Merchants Chamber runs it with Tampa Bay Markets, and the vendors are largely people who make what they sell: art in most media, handcrafts, jewelry, clothing, pet products and packaged artisan foods. The boulevard ends at the waterfront, so the stroll carries you toward Boca Ciega Bay and the evening light on the water, past independent shops and restaurants keeping their doors open for the night. Parking in the village is free. Kids and leashed dogs are both welcome, and the dogs turn out in numbers. Bring a bag for whatever you carry home.
