About this happenin
St. Petersburg's Arbor Day celebration fills Walter Fuller Park with more than 120 plant, garden and flower vendors across one free spring weekend. The Garden Club of St. Petersburg mounts a juried flower show inside the recreation center, city arborists take questions at an Ask an Arborist tent, and staff run plant, soil and water diagnostics. Kids get crafts and Pathfinder tree climbing, and free plant and pine seedling giveaways run alongside food trucks and tool sharpening. Know before you go: admission is free and the festival runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Park at Azalea Middle School, the Azalea Youth Soccer League lot or behind Walter Fuller Recreation Center, then ride the free shuttle in. Accessible parking sits at the recreation center's main lot and the pool lot. Two vehicle plant pickup areas let you load heavy buys without hauling them across the park, and garden wagons rent for $5 with a driver's license. Awards for the flower show are given Sunday at 3 p.m., and the festival runs rain or shine except in severe weather.
