About this happenin

Oakfield Drive in Brandon shuts to cars on a Saturday evening in December for the Parade of Lights, which a group of local business owners and community leaders started in 2023. The first entries step off at 5:30 pm from South Lakewood Drive and follow Oakfield east across Kings Avenue to Vonderburg Drive. Krewes and high school bands march with local businesses and organizations. The Brandon Riverview and Valrico/FishHawk chambers of commerce partner on it, and the charities it supports are drawn at random from chamber members. Oakfield closes by 4:30 pm and South Lakewood by 3, so park early in one of the business lots along the route. Grandstand and VIP tickets come with food and signature drinks. The food truck park sets up in the business park on the south side of Oakfield, west of the post office.
