About this happenin
Orchids by the thousand take over the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at the New York Botanical Garden every year from February into April. NYBG bills it as the country's premier orchid exhibition, and the show has been running for more than two decades. A different designer takes the glass house each time and builds installations among the blooms, so no two years look alike. One edition turned the conservatory into orchid street scenes, down to a laundromat and a bus stop. Past editions have also set aside select evenings as Orchid Nights for adults 21 and over, with music and cash bars. Entry is by ticket.
More in February: 5 other New York events.
