Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden
2900 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, NY 10458
About this happenin
Nearly 200 New York landmarks, rebuilt in miniature from palm fronds and cinnamon sticks, fill the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at the New York Botanical Garden from November into January. Model trains cross famous bridges and wind past them under the glass, and more trains run outside through a lit mountain scene. The garden has put on the show for more than three decades. On some evenings the conservatory stays open until 8 p.m., with live music and photos with an NYBG train conductor. A couple of Saturday mornings are kept quieter for visitors who want a calmer time of it, with the videos and music switched off and the trains still running. The show is included in the All-Garden Pass. Members get in free, and reserving ahead is recommended for them, though it's optional on quieter weekdays.
