The screen for Movies With A View goes up on the Harbor View Lawn at Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, with the Manhattan skyline across the river behind it. The films are free and run on Thursday evenings in July and August. The lawn opens at 6 p.m. and the film starts at sundown. There's no registration. Seating is first come, first served, and once the lawn is full the park may turn people away or let one in as one leaves. Bring a blanket or a small cushion, because chairs other than wheelchairs aren't allowed on the lawn. Outside food is fine, outside alcohol and glass are not, and water, soft drinks, alcohol for adults 21 and over and light snacks are sold on the Pier 1 Promenade. Dogs stay home unless they are service animals. Every film has English captions. The park started the series in 2000, and more than 690,000 people have come since.
