About this happenin
For one weekend each October, The New Yorker's writers and editors take the stage in Manhattan theaters to interview people from literature, film, politics, comedy and music. Some of the bookings are musicians who play a set. The magazine has run the festival for more than 25 years, and Webster Hall and The Joyce Theater have both been on its venue list. Every ticket is for a single event, and seats go to whoever gets in first. That is what an Early Entry ticket buys: the doors 15 minutes ahead of everyone else, not a reserved chair. Select Webster Hall events also sell standing room, and students and educators get a small allotment of cheaper tickets for each event. Sold-out events keep a wait list. There are no refunds or exchanges, and nobody under 13 gets in.
More in October: 12 other New York events.
